OK I'm sure that its possible to go to Paris without going to the top of the Eiffel Tower but probably not if you have a 5 year old and a 10 year old in tow. Now the line for Eiffel Tower tickets can also put the Disney at Christmas lines to shame but you can buy them online ahead of time. Really you almost have to buy them online ahead of time because on our day at least they ran out of tickets to the top so if you stood in the super long line you still only got to go half way up. Ladies think of it link booking your Disney dining ie you really should figure out the first day that you can buy the tickets, mark your calendar, and buy them then. I'm getting ahead of myself though as our tickets were for 2 pm and even on a Parisian schedule we had time to do some other things first.
We started our day at the Orsay. For those of you who like me didn't already know this the Orsay is where most of the impressionists are shown and I actually preferred it the the Louvre. We started at the top floor where Monnet and his cohorts are shown and the kids did really well there. Emily liked the pretty ladies, pretty flowers, and dancers. Elijah liked lots of things including spotting paintings in person that he had seen in books. Then we checked out some sculptures and went to see the Toulouse Lautrec pieces. I could have spent hours in this museum but the kids were done so we headed onward.
After a nice walk along the river to the Eiffel Tower we grabbed a quick lunch and played in the park until it was time to go up. Since we had tickets we just got to go right in.
He was pleased and we did stop to look at some other neat things on the way out.
